4 Frame Nuc Wait List.
Secure your bee colony needs for the upcoming season by placing a No Charge Reserve Order for our popular FOUR frame deep nucs. Once our reserve orders are sold out, we offer a waitlist option for any additional nucs that may become available as we work through our production process.
To better serve our valued customers, we provide the waitlist opportunity between reserve order exhaustion and the chance to determine additional availability. Sign up now at no cost, and you'll be notified as soon as reserve orders become available again.
Our FOUR frame nucs are perfect for starting new bee hive colonies, increasing apiary size, or replacing winter losses. Each nuc includes three frames of brood (open and capped), one mated laying queen, and approximately 5000 honey bees (workers and drones). The fourth frame is a feed frame with pollen, nectar, and/or capped honey.
For your convenience, the nucs are housed in reusable boxes for transport, and inspected by our Regional Bee Inspector. An inspection report and permit to sell our stock are included with your purchase.
Reserve Order: It's always advisable to reserve early to guarantee availability. As the months progress from March until May, beekeepers take reservations months in advance as part of their honey bee stock production planning.
Payment: We offer two main payment options: Full Payment or a 50% deposit (with the balance due at the time of pick up or anytime before). Nuc boxes are included in the full price of each nuc, and they are not expected to be returned for a refund.
Pick Up: We offer two pick-up locations: Armstrong BC, and Revelstoke BC. Castlegar orders will be transported into Castlegar by a local beekeeper. Location is to be determined. One week prior to being available, we will email you pick-up details and directions to our locations. We do not ship our nucs through Canada Post or Courier. We do promote/ encourage beekeepers working together to transport nuc orders into their area minimizing travel. Please let us know in advance if someone is picking up your order for you.
Our anticipated pick-up dates are Sunday June 2nd 2024 in Armstrong BC and Monday June 3rd in Revelstoke BC/ Castlegar BC. Please understand that these are expected dates, but each year's spring weather can significantly influence mating weather, which in turn can affect which weekend nucs are available for pick-up.
Transportation: We advise that you come prepared to handle live bees with appropriate protective equipment and a transport plan that will provide adequate ventilation during transport. To ensure foragers are home, we suggest planning an early morning or late evening pick-up.
The ideal transport is in the back of a pick-up truck, although bees can be transported in a vehicle while adequately secured against movement. This is a live animal product made to order in high demand. A restocking fee of $50 each will be charged for canceled orders before May 1st, 2023. Orders canceled after May 1st, 2023, will receive a store credit for the amount paid.
We do not accept responsibility for bees that overheat once they leave our care. Any issues must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of receiving your bees. It is recommended that you plan to feed your bees for 1-2 weeks following pick-up.
